What is an independent total loss appraisal?
When a vehicle is declared a total loss, the settlement is based on the actual cash value (ACV) of the car before the accident. Different valuation tools (CCC One, Audatex, Mitchell, market listings) can produce different numbers depending on which comps, trim level, and condition adjustments are used.
An independent total loss appraisal gives you a second opinion backed by current Houston-area market data. Our reports are unbiased and written to be useful in negotiation, the appraisal clause process, or arbitration if you choose to pursue them.
When a second opinion makes sense
- You want to confirm the comps used reflect the Houston market
- Your vehicle had options, recent maintenance, or upgrades you want documented
- You want an independent review of mileage, condition, or trim valuation
- You'd like a second valuation alongside the CCC One / Audatex report
- You want to compare the actual cash value (ACV) to current Houston market data
